resource for Jefferson County Residents/Parents as Teachers Program

There is an incredible program called Parents as Teachers offered through the St. Louis and Jefferson County School District. This program is free and designed to help children from birth to age 5. Parent educators come to your home and discuss the child's development and introduce age appropriate activities designed to stimulate the child's intellectual and physical well being. The Parent Educator can also provide resources and discuss any concerns the parent has. The Parents as Teacher program also offers screenings for kindergarten readiness and developmental delays. This program also periodically has group meetings and play- dates. As parents of small  children I'm sure we all want to give our little one's the best possible start in life.
